A celebration of local traditions, including those rela ted to food and wine. This is the basis of the famous Tempeston festival, scheduled for Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of September, in the churchyard of Santa Maria Elisabetta, in Cavallino. The name of the festival derives from the Italian tempesta, the ‘storm’ that in the past anticipated the end of summer: this is why, before the autumn, this convivial event is traditional ly staged to celebrate local traditions. It is organised by the Contrada of Cavallino in collaboration with the Pro Loco.
From 7 p.m. onwards, stands will be set up with meat and fish dishes and excellent local wine. On Sunday, the 25th of August, to anticipate the event, the Tempeston Regatta: a race circuit set up in Ca vallino in the Pordelio canal. In this case, the event is organised by the Remiera Cavallino, and the race is scheduled to start at 6 pm.
