Rowing, yes, but the venetian way

    CTliveBy CTlive18/06/2026

Thanks to the Remiera Cavallino rowing club, you have the chance to try this unique experience.

Venetian rowing is an ancient navigation technique deeply rooted in the history and geography of the Venetian lagoon.

Born out of the need to navigate shallow waters, salt marshes and narrow canals, this particular style of rowing is distinctive because the rower stands facing the bow, enabling them to monitor the seabed and steer the boat with precision.

Anyone wishing to try their hand at Voga alla Veneta can contact the “Remiera Cavallino” club, based in Via Equilia.

The association has been active in the area since 1998. Today it has around a hundred members, involved in the practice of traditional Venetian rowing, as well as canoeing and SUP, at both competitive and recreational levels.

It is a key player in promoting sports linked to the rowing tradition, with the aim of keeping alive a historical culture and local identity, with a particular focus on young people.
