History, nature and traditions take centre stage once again on Sunday, the 13th of September with the Jujube Festival, the annual event that brings the ancient lagoon village of Lio Piccolo to life. Organised by the Borgo di Lio Piccolo association, with the support of the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti, the event celebrates the jujube, the region’s symbolic plant, and the ancient vegetable gardens of the lagoon. From 10.00 am, the market selling local food and agricultural produce will be open, as will the food and wine stand offering traditional dishes and the exhibitions ‘Frammenti di Laguna’ and ‘La Laguna racconta. Sinfonie cromatiche’ by Fulvio Galletta. Musical entertainment will be provided by Max & The Seventh Sound. Access to the village will be permitted exclusively by bicycle or via the free continuous shuttle service by tourist train, departing from Treporti Cemetery (first departure at 10:00 am; last departure from Lio Piccolo at 7:30 pm). Because having fun also means showing respect for the environment around us.
