Two Olympic champions were guests at the “Day of the Dogaresse”
The second edition of the “Day of the Dogaresse” took place on the lagoon at Cavallino-Treporti. The event, organised by the local council, serves as a forum for networking and personal development, dedicated to promoting female leadership and the excellence of the Veneto region.
Guests of honour Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer: the two athletes shared a historic achievement, the gold medal in the women’s doubles luge at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games in the discipline’s Olympic debut, following their 2024 world title, offering a tangible testament to commitment, team spirit and determination.
“We are proud of the result we have achieved,” they said, visibly moved after their tour of the lagoon, “built on commitment and sacrifice. It hasn’t always been easy to balance study with top-level sport, but with determination we have managed to reach this milestone. Being invited to Cavallino-Treporti is an honour for us. To the younger ones we say: never give up, believe in your goals and keep going, even when the path is difficult.”
