The Maccarini family first discovered Cavallino-Treporti over 30 years ago and have never looked back since.
It was the summer of 1992 when Carlo and Tiziana, with their children Sara, Stella and Matteo, arrived at Sant’Angelo Village.
Over 30 years of loyalty, which has turned into a deep love for the resort, its facilities, its beauty and its people. That is why they have become Tourism Ambassadors.
How did you end up in Cavallino-Treporti?
“We’re from Treviglio, in the province of Bergamo, the town where the great Giacinto Facchetti was born. We discovered this beautiful place thanks to some friends who suggested we try spending a holiday here. It was love at first sight and we’ve been coming ever since, always to Sant’Angelo.”
So, in a way, you’ve seen Sant’Angelo grow, and the Village has seen you grow…
“We’ve seen all the changes: the expansion of facilities and holiday opportunities, from the construction of the first swimming pools in the 1990s to the expansion and renovation of accommodation units. Our children have also grown up here; they’ve started their own families and continue to return for holidays.”
What do you like most?
“Everything, both inside and outside the resort. We enjoy walking around the village, visiting shops and using the many cycle paths, which are beautiful. In fact, with my sister-in-law’s partner, who loves cycling, we’ve already planned our route for our next holiday in August.”
Is it true that you welcome everyone who comes to say hello?
“For us, sharing is very important. We do it with anyone who passes by, starting with those who run and work at Sant’Angelo, many of whom we’ve seen grow up and know personally. There is always something to eat for everyone. We feel like part of a big family.”
