If there’s one thing I absolutely love about my job, it’s that it allows me to meet lots of people and to feel the emotions conveyed through their stories and smiles. It’s also through this that I’m able to convey the beauty of life in Cavallino-Treporti. There are the ‘Ambassadors’ – tourists who have been visiting the resort for decades and have therefore become (officially) its leading advocates. Then there are the residents and tourism professionals, who always strive to offer the very best in hospitality and services. And then there are those who experience this area first-hand through cultural initiatives. This is the case with Tommaso Giusto, a young director and the protagonist of a historical documentary film, filmed largely here in Cavallino-Treporti. We interviewed him during the Venice Film Festival. His words capture the essence of what this area is all about: feeling at home, feeling welcome and feeling part of a story. Perhaps a story that has yet to be told in full and that deserves to be known. At any time of year.
