The exhale that takes you further

    CTliveCTlive15/05/2023

The way we breathe makes a difference in yoga as in everyday life. There are movements that should be performed while inhaling and others that are facilitated by exhaling. It is very important how we enter and exit a position in yoga. What movement should we perform while inhaling and where does the exhale take us?

When the rib cage expands, when we lift something or have to exert force, we should do it with a good inhale, on the contrary for bending forward, lowering ourselves or relaxing, exhaling will help.

Even if we don’t pay attention to our breathing, this practice can be a relatively easy and helpful. But if we are mindful of the movements we make, their rhythm and their breathing phase, we can go much deeper into the position and the experience itself.

Following this simple practice and paying attention to our breathing will in time make a big difference. Why? Because it’s simply always helpful!
