The city council has approved the technical-economic feasibility project for the construction of the new terminal at Punta Sabbioni. This is a fundamental step in the process that will lead, by 2026, to the construction of a modern and functional infrastructure, capable of responding concretely to the needs of residents, commuters and tourists. The economic value of the intervention, amounting to EUR 5 million, concerns the reconstruction work on the structure and is co-financed by the two municipal administrations. To these are added further operating costs, up to EUR 1 million, which will be borne by Avm, the entity implementing the project, to ensure an adequate level of efficiency and improve the organisation of the on-shore spaces serving public water transport.
THE HOUSE OF ARTISTS
Restoration work has begun on the former rectory of Lio Piccolo. A building site that marks the first concrete step towards the rebirth of the Borgo and its transformation into a cultural centre of reference. The work will last 300 days and will lead to the architectural and functional recovery of the historic building, which dates back to the early 20th century. The municipal administration’s objective is to breathe new life into the structure, which will become the future Casa degli Artisti (House of artists), a place dedicated to cultural production, hosting artists, studying and promoting the area. The works include structural and seismic consolidation, conservative restoration of the interior and exterior, re-roofing, energy efficiency and redevelopment of the interior spaces. All the planned interventions are carried out according to criteria of sustainability and environmental protection.
