With two dates, the 14th and 20th of September, Cavallino-Treporti kicks off the International Festival of the Two Cities, one of the longest-running and most prestigious events on the guitar music scene.
Not only that: Now in its 23rd edition, the Festival continues to represent a point of innovation, exploring new artistic avenues in the musical genre known as “New Classical World”. Under the artistic direction of Andrea Vettoretti, the 2025 edition of the Festival (which will then keep going in Treviso, Mestre and Venice) will feature new collaborations with world-renowned artists, accompanied with performances by young talents.
The first event is scheduled for Sunday 14th of September at 5 pm in the Batteria Vettor Pisani. The Quartetto Vivaldiano will present the performance “La follia del prete rosso” (The Madness of the Red Priest), a philological journey through European Baroque, with period instruments and great stylistic rigour. This ensemble has performed on the most prestigious stages in Italy and abroad, offering engaging and authentic interpretations. The Quartetto Vivaldiano is composed of: Stefano Maffizzoni (flute), Riccardo Malfatto (violin), Ludovico Armellini (baroque cello) and Lorella Ruffin (harpsichord).
On Saturday 20th of September, at 5 pm, the Mediterranea Group will return to the Festival with the enthralling rhythms of the show “Flamenco y Baile”, a tribute to gypsy culture and the evocative world of Federico García Lorca, creating a bridge between Mediterranean tradition and musical innovation.
In case of bad weather, the two events will be held in the Theatre Hall, in Piazza Papa Giovanni Paolo II, Ca’ Savio.
