The Councillor for Tourism, Alessandro Ballarin
What is the added value of Cavallino-Treporti that makes its brand so strong?
“Cavallino-Treporti is a blue and green location, with a strong environmental vocation that stems from a specific political choice: to enhance green areas, maintain a low skyline and protect the open air. These elements not only represent an identity resource, but also outline a clear vision for the future of the area. The environmental focus is also recognised from a tourism perspective, thanks to a model of widespread accommodation immersed in nature, such as the open-air experience.”
The cantilevered bicycle path over the lagoon has been completed and others will be built shortly: how much more do they offer in terms of appeal, services and promotion?
“As an administration, we believe it is essential to ensure a safe road network in the area. Cycle paths are an integral part of this objective: it is essential to create and continue to develop well-defined routes dedicated to those who travel on foot or by bicycle. This is important first and foremost for our residents, who live in the area all year round, but also for our guests, because it allows them to leave their accommodation and enjoy an authentic experience in direct contact with the environment.”
Give us a couple of suggestions for guests to experience in the so-called ‘off season’…
“Especially before and after summer, Cavallino-Treporti is an ideal place for outdoor activities: walks in the lagoon, excursions in the pine forest, cycling, water sports and much more. A true natural space that transforms into an open-air gym, perfect for active and sustainable experiences all year round. In addition to this, we promote a rich calendar of events that cover the entire year.”
