Along Via Pordelio, the Europe’s longest bicycle path suspended over the lagoon
It is no coincidence that the best way to explore Cavallino- Treporti is by bicycle. On two wheels you can discover its most evocative places from a naturalistic point of view, and thus experience nature, uncontaminated landscapes, and new emotions. That’s why the network of bicycle paths connecting the whole of Cavallino-Treporti is very extensive, covering more than 40 kilometres, with routes from Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni and to other destinations as well such as the route along Via del Casson. One of the most picturesque routes is the one along Via Pordelio, which directly overlooks the lagoon of Venice, with some traits overhanging the water.
It is a 7 km bicycle path, 3.5 of which are already open (1.2 of those overhanging water), while the second half will be opened during summer. We are talking about Europe’s longest path over the lagoon, that can offer a unique scenery. If you take a bird’s-eye view, like the flamingos that live here, the cycle path shows its full beauty. The panorama is decidedly fascinating and unforgettable at all hours of the day (and of the night, with its poignant and very cinematographic LED lighting). The bicycle path extends beyond the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti, connecting it to the mainland.
