During summer it’s important to protect oneself from mosquitoes: their bites are not only annoying, but could also transmit serious diseases called arboviruses. The most common symptoms of these diseases are fever and general malaise, with possible serious complications for the elderly and the frail and debilitated.
Skin repellents help protect us from their stings, but it is important to use suitable products with proper application. Apply the repellent after sunscreen to avoid impairing its protective action and intensify repellent application on evening outings: the common mosquito, Culex Pipiens, bites mainly from dusk to dawn.
SAFETY FOR TOURISTS AND RESIDENTS
Throughout the summer, the Cavallino-Treporti First Aid Point in Via Concordia, managed by the “Volontari del Soccorso Cavallino-Treporti” Green Cross, is active 24/7.
With its new equipment and personnel, provided for by the “Vacanze in salute” project and with the addition of a second ambulance and crew, the First Aid Point is now a hub for all tourists and residents in need.
The interpreter staff present guarantees language mediation between English- and German-speaking patients and the medical personnel, while a telephone language mediation service is available for patients who speak other languages.
