A time for sharing and fostering that sense of community which, thanks to the town’s innate spirit of hospitality, ends up drawing in tourists too. It is the festival of the patron saint of Cavallino-Treporti, dedicated to St Francis of Assisi, regarded as one of the most important saints in the Christian tradition and the patron saint of Italy. To mark the celebrations, scheduled for Sunday, the 4th of October, the local council will organise, as is traditional, a series of events in Piazza Papa Giovanni Paolo II, at Ca’ Savio. It will be a day of festivities, in collaboration with the Pantakin theatre company, designed for young and old alike, with games, workshops and entertainment for all ages, running from morning until evening. The aim is to come together and enjoy the square amidst smiles, fun and a sense of community, in the name of St Francis. The programme will accompany the celebrations with a variety of events and moments of fellowship and spirituality, to honour the patron saint through activities that bring the whole community together.
