“Frammenti di Laguna-Commerci e vita quotidiana tra l’età romana e moderna” (“Fragments of the Lagoon-Trade and Daily Life between the Roman and the Modern Ages”) is the permanent exhibition set up at the Lio Piccolo exhibition centre, born of the will of the municipal administration, in collaboration with the Veneto Archaeology Superintendence. The aim is to deepen our knowledge of the Northern Lagoon area, featuring archaeological finds from land and underwater sites recovered in the area around Lio Piccolo.
The exhibition consists of a didactic itinerary that interprets and explains materials from the Roman, Medieval and modern periods, in order to define the essential features of the environmental and historical-archaeological context of reference. The exhibition, organised by the Borgo di Lio Piccolo Association, is open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Protected area for Lio Piccolo and Mesole
Protecting an extraordinary area such as Lio Piccolo and Mesole, limiting the access of motor vehicles is the aim of the Municipality’s ordinance, which restricts the access to the area for cars on Saturdays and Sundays, on public holidays and the day before, until June 30th from 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Moreover, parking is forbidden in the entire area in front of the village of Lio Piccolo, with the exception of areas regulated by a time disk. Who is allowed: those travelling by bicycle, on foot or with electric or hybrid vehicles; residents and their guests, workers who own water space or land; finally, those who have made reservations in one of the area’s restaurants, after registering on the designated portal: www.accessoliopiccolo.com
