If you are looking for a refreshing snack for your dog, what better than a popsicle?
Procure some popsicles moulds and then follow some of our tips.
Vegetable popsicles
You can cook some fresh vegetables such as cucumber, celery or carrot, blend well with water and fill the moulds. One night in the freezer and they are ready to use!
Fruit popsicles
Dogs love fruit popsicles, but you must watch how much you give them.
Fruit should always be given in controlled portions, especially sugary summer fruit which can ferment and give annoying abdominal pain.
Always use fresh fruit and avoid juice, especially if it has additional sugar in it.
For an ice cube tray, the doses of fruit to blend and dilute with water are:
2 slices of melon, or 1 medium slice of watermelon, or 30 g blueberries, or 1/2 peach, or 3 apricots.
Broth popsicles
Prepare a light broth with a piece of meat of your choice, celery and carrot.
After boiling it, remove the meat and vegetables and fill the moulds.
These broth popsicles can also be dissolved in the water bowl if your dog to make it cooler.
Carrot ice cream
Ingredients: 1 jar of yoghurt and 2 carrots.
Boil and puree the carrot, mix with the yoghurt, fill the moulds to the right size for your dog and freeze them. Just remember to pay attention when you serve it to the dog and prevent him from eating it in one bite; he should enjoy it slowly.
