A new event in the prestigious organ festival series.
The Polish-born maestro Wacław Golonka will be the star of the next event in the packed programme of the Cavallino-Treporti International Organ Festival. The concert artist, who performs in major European and international music centres, will give a recital on Tuesday, 14th July at 9 pm (free admission) in the Archpriest’s Church of Santissima Trinità in Treporti.
The organ in this church, built in 1890, is a fine example of the 19th-century Venetian tradition, both historically and in terms of sound. It is complemented by the organ of the Church of Santa Maria Elisabetta in Cavallino, an instrument from 1890 (both attributed to Pietro Bazzani), restored in 1991 and set within an architectural and artistic context of particular merit, featuring works attributed to Sebastiano Ricci.
Together, these instruments constitute a cultural heritage of the highest excellence and represent the centrepiece of the entire festival.
The next event is on 7th August, featuring maestro Axel Flierl.
The series is curated by artistic director Roberto Bertuzzi.
