With Forme d’Acqua, one of the souls of Ecosistem, Gianluca Orazio makes fountains. Born in Punta Sabbioni, the company is known all over the world.

When did it all start?
“In the year 2000 when I founded Ecosistem with my cousin, a service business for tourism that envisaged already a bond with water, in the form of irrigation systems and the first ponds”.
How did you move on to fountains?
“Thanks to the meeting with architect Simona Marta Favrin, who made it possible to merge two concepts and two visions, namely water and architecture. I remember the first one: a column fountain realised for a private. From there the journey began, with a growth also in art, which saw the inclusion of Murano glass, steel, and light management”.

Murano rhymes with art…
“Yes, you could say it was the next step in the growth of this business, which, after architecture, has included art. In addition to technology, where we have invested a lot, allowing us to control, for example, water consumption, colours, water jets… “.
You have created hundreds of fountains practically all over the world: which one are you most proud of?
“Certainly the one at the port of Palermo, a complex work, but one that has given us much satisfaction, also for the human relationships that have been established. But also the one on the new pedestrian path leading to the Holy Door, built for the Jubilee”.
What is your dream?
“It is not to make a bigger or more beautiful fountain, but to have a company that stands on its own two feet”.
