Sunday 21st of June marks the ninth edition of Sand & Sound – Live Music on the Beach. This eagerly awaited event celebrates the start of the summer season through the power of music.
At 9 pm sharp, along the thirteen-kilometre stretch of beach from Punta Sabbioni to Cavallino, around thirty venues – including beach kiosks and other establishments – will host different artists and bands, all performing live simultaneously, offering a wide variety of genres: from pop to reggae, from blues to jazz, not to mention rap and samba, featuring big hits, covers and dance music. The initiative involves the whole area, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Residents and tourists will thus be able to enjoy an immersive experience free of charge, freely choosing the soundtrack to their evening and moving along the beach amidst different sounds, cultures and styles. Sand & Sound proves once again to be an evocative and engaging event, capable of bringing together people, music and the landscape in a widespread celebration that pays tribute to summer and conviviality.
THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
“This event was created primarily to offer a unique experience for the many guests staying at the various establishments in Cavallino-Treporti, without forgetting the local residents or those who work here,” explains Maurilio Dorigo, artistic director of Sand & Sound. “Every year we try to offer as wide a musical variety as possible, so as to cater to every musical taste, but also to allow people to discover new genres. Another feature is that we never have the same artists in the same location every year. A great evening of music and a wonderful stage for the musicians and performers themselves.”
