Cavallino-Treporti celebrates 100 years of Saverio Barbaro with a personal exhibition entitled “Saverio Barbaro, Windows on the East”, open until 2 June, at the Daniele Manin cultural center in Ca’ Savio. The exhibition opens the celebrations that the Saverio Barbaro Foundation wanted to dedicate to the multifaceted artist, starting from a place particularly dear to him, Cavallino-Treporti, the place where Barbaro spent his youth. The exhibition, curated by Marco Dolfin, is made up of 50 works, mostly oils but also works on paper. There will be several unpublished works, never before exhibited to the public or published. The exhibition is dedicated to one of the most representative strands of Barbaro’s painting, namely his relationship with the African and Middle Eastern world, that the artist had the opportunity to get to know closely, starting from the 1960s, with his numerous travels around Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey.
